Shave It or Bare It?

It's freezing! Before I exit my apartment, I bundle up in my warmest Burberry scarf, earmuffs, hat and gloves, and zip myself into my "Marshmallow Man" coat. However, the minute I walk outside my freshly shaven, silky legs are covered in goose bumps! I HATE WINTER!

In the winter, most women I know spend so much time hydrating dry skin, exfoliating or just keeping warm, that shaving sometimes tumbles down the priority list and ends up landing near the bottom with trash old beauty magazines or clean out the fridge.

After polling my friends, I want some fresh data. I want to know what YOU think!!!

Pop Quiz:

When It comes to your legs, are you a:
A) Waxer
B) Shaver
C) Other ________________ (NAIR, Lazer Girl, Pray for the hair to stop growing, etc)

In the winter months, would you say that you shave your legs:
A) Once a week to avoid feeling like a guerilla
B) Every few days
C) Everyday - it's a must on my list

Your main motivation for shaving your legs is:
A) Hygiene
B) I don't want to get caught in a make-out session with hairy legs
C) I prefer the way it looks and feels

After spending my Valentine's Day in a tight, hot pink belted Rebecca Taylor dress (yes, it was so hot), black stockings and super high booties, my silky legs were shaking and I was craving a hoodie! Apparently, that's not a sexy look. Who knew?!

Tell us your winter beauty secrets! When it comes to winter beauty maintenance, would you prefer to shave it or bare it?

These are the pumps I'm dying to get my hands on after have my perfect pedicure!
I am addicted to pedicures! I absolutely love them, whether they involve coconut milk, long calf massages or paraben wax treatments. I am a pedicure girl.

My polish of choice for winter weather has been OPI's oh-so-famous Lincoln Park After Dark, but lately I've been thinking perhaps it's time to experiment with a pop of color on my toes.

My girlfriends are a tad more adventurous with polish, and a girlfriend told me she had found a new, flirty and sparkly purple shade that provided a burst of color in one of OPI's fabulous formulas, so I had to give it a try! Sephora by OPI has just launched a shade of nail lacquer to celebrate women everywhere and help them embrace 2010! The feminist in me loves the concept of this nail lacquer as much as the color!

Too Good For Him nail color is a vibrant grape color with silver flecks of sparkle. It has the words "playful" written all over it!

This long-lasting, chip resistant nail color goes on smooth with no clumps or bumps. Top coat helps to seal in your nail color and keep it lasting that much longer.

Dare to give color a try? It's time to experiment with the Sephora by OPI Too Good for Him nail color!

By TheGlamtastic · December 2, 2009 · 1 Comment ·
Please Note: I did not receive PR/free samples of Gucci or Marc Jacobs fragrances. I did receive a sample of In Bloom to test. I would have written about the fragrance regardless of whether I received a sample to test.
What's your favorite winter fragrance? This season, we challenge you to experiment with a new scent, perhaps one that provides a spicy floral scent or a warm fragrance with citrus and charm.
Here are some of our favorites...

Gucci Flora
This subtle, sophisticated and sexy floral scent will keep you warm during the frigid winter nights! The scent, inspired by the Flora Donna, is perfect for any Gucci girl or elegant woman of the house. The fragrance is composed of top notes including citrus and peony. The heart is made up of rose and osmanthus flower, and the base is a rich recipe of pink pepper and sandalwood. After just one spritz, you won't be able to stop yourself from smelling your sensual and sexy scented skin. This is the winter scent that I just can't live without!

In Bloom by Reese Witherspoon
Wish you had the stunning good looks and charm of starlet Reese Witherspoon? Now, you can enjoy her new floral oriental woodsy scent just before the snow hits! This delicate fragrance, created by Reese and the expert perfumers at Avon, opens with Georgia peach, tea leaves and crisp greens. The heart of the scent is a mixture of star gardenia, magnolia and jasmine. The scent closes with cashmere woods, hypnotic florals and amber wood crystals. It's a fragrance that gives off provocative, feminine notes and leaves the skin with just the right amount of sexy, sensual scent!

Marc Jacobs Lola
Marc Jacobs is an infamous character on the fashion, beauty and red carpet scene; he always leaves his mark! His new fragrance Lola also does just that!  This warm, floral bouquet is a free spirited scent for today's modern girl. The fragrance is playful, flirtatious and alluring. Love it! The scent opens with pink peppercorn, pear, and ruby red grapefruit. The heart shines with rose, fushia peony and geranium, while Lola closes with lovely layers of vanilla, warm tonka bean and creamy musk to keep the fragrance oh-so-sensuous!

What fragrance can you just not live without this holiday season? Tell us about it!

Must Try, Beauty Buy, You Decide

By TheGlamtastic · November 16, 2009 · 0 Comments ·
Must-Try:
My dermatologist has always warned me NOT to lick my lips in the winter because it will intensify the dry, itchy feeling that entices me to bite and run my fingers over my cracked, little lips. Not a sexy smile!

This winter, there's a secret, super-inexpensive, multi-tasking moisturizer that is safe and gentle enough to use on your lips. Aquaphor Healing Ointment helps to soothe and protect dry, irritated lips and seals in moisture. This multi-tasking drugstore treatment also works well to heal chapped skin on the arms, knees, heels...you name it! It's also fragrance and preservative free - love that!

Beauty Buy:
There's one lip love in my life that has never lost its charm, or it's effectiveness! Rosebud Salve is a cult-classic lip balm that conditions, calms and cools my dry and irritated lips upon contact. It's also one of those mutli-tasking skin savers that has been used to soothe everything from burns to diaper rash! I can't testify to the two above uses (burns and diaper rash), but I can say it keeps my smile smooth and dry skin soothed all winter long!

It also has a light scent, which I love! Not to strong, not to faint! It's a perfect rose.

You Decide:
How many steps would you take to achieve lovely lips in the winter? Layers of creams, exfoliants, lotions and potions? Benefit Lipscription is a dynamic duo that smoothes and soothes lips, and then enhances volume and plumps them up. This two step process begins by buffing the dry skin off of the lips with jojoba-enriched scrubbing beads. Rub lightly, no need to scrub away your lips or irritate the area even more! Once the dead skin has been removed, slather on a layer of soothing lip balm that hydrates and plumps simultaneously. As a on-the-go girl, is this lip enhancer worth the steps and the fuss?

Is this a winter must buy or a product you'd pass by?

Tried it? Loved it? Tell us about it!!!
