Are Gorilla's Sexy? GORILLA Warfare™ Hair Minimizing Antiperspirant Deodorant

By TheGlamtastic · June 18, 2010 · 0 Comments ·

I'll admit it. Perhaps I'm a tad jaded. After working in the beauty biz, it's hard to impress me with a totally unique product; something really innovative, something I have never seen before. Whether my jaw drops in awe or in disgust, it doesn't matter. If a product can get a rise out of me, it's worth further investigation. Scrolling the pages of Sephora, com for my online lotions and potions fix, I spotted it - Gorilla Warfare Hair Minimizing Antiperspirant.

Maybe it's the name that threw me off or the image of the cartoon purple gorilla. Not exactly the sexy, chic or sleek marketing that gets me hot and bothered.

Who likes shaving? Silence. Who likes sweatiy, smelly armpits, B.O.-cursed dresses and funky smelling tank tops? Nobody outside of the zoo! However, as beauty has become more and more aspirational throughout the past few years, promising the consumer a moment in time or a forbidden kiss, seeing this made me think of a smooch from a big, fury friend.

It's created WITHOUT synthetic dyes or fragrances.

Have you tried it???? Tell us what you think!!!

Check out J.CREW for the hottest spring must-haves, like the above! All J.Crew baby!
Please note: I did receive an editorial sample of this product to test.

The weather hit a stuning 70 degrees in NYC last weekend and the city went wild! Women were strutting down 5th Avenue in string bikini tops and J. Crew super chic shorts.

I've been working on my biceps, triceps, shoulders...you name it...for the past few month in preparation to bare my arms for spring. I've been taking Spinning class daily, doing squats, leg lifts, you name it...I want a spring-ready bod!

But one of the most important things you can do to get your bod ready for those super short shorts and tiny tanks is obsvious...shave your legs and under your arms!

The perfect razor to get the job done? The Venus Embrace Razor. This rockin' razor has a super flexible head that employs a soothing strip to condition the skin, while it allows you to shave those super hard to reach hard spots and hit those curves. I've never experienced a cut even when shaving those hard to tackle round surfaces like the tops of the knees and the L-shaped curves behind the knee caps. My skin is left silky smooth and short skirt ready.

Are you ready ladies...all it takes is get ready, set and shave!

What is the one super short fashion must that you are dying to model this spring?

Shave It or Bare It?

Please note: I did not receive editorial samples.
It's freezing! Before I exit my apartment, I bundle up in my warmest Burberry scarf, earmuffs, hat and gloves, and zip myself into my "Marshmallow Man" coat. However, the minute I walk outside my freshly shaven, silky legs are covered in goose bumps! I HATE WINTER!

In the winter, most women I know spend so much time hydrating dry skin, exfoliating or just keeping warm, that shaving sometimes tumbles down the priority list and ends up landing near the bottom with trash old beauty magazines or clean out the fridge.

After polling my friends, I want some fresh data. I want to know what YOU think!!!

Pop Quiz:

When It comes to your legs, are you a:
A) Waxer
B) Shaver
C) Other ________________ (NAIR, Lazer Girl, Pray for the hair to stop growing, etc)

In the winter months, would you say that you shave your legs:
A) Once a week to avoid feeling like a guerilla
B) Every few days
C) Everyday - it's a must on my list

Your main motivation for shaving your legs is:
A) Hygiene
B) I don't want to get caught in a make-out session with hairy legs
C) I prefer the way it looks and feels

After spending my Valentine's Day in a tight, hot pink belted Rebecca Taylor dress (yes, it was so hot), black stockings and super high booties, my silky legs were shaking and I was craving a hoodie! Apparently, that's not a sexy look. Who knew?!

Tell us your winter beauty secrets! When it comes to winter beauty maintenance, would you prefer to shave it or bare it?

Taming the Man Beast

Gillette Mach 3 $7.99 - http://www.razorsdirect.com/
The Art of Shaving Shave Cream (Lemon Essential Oil) $22 - http://www.theartofshaving.com
Last week, my hubby went on "shaving strike." I have to admit that he looks sexy with light scruff, but over the course of two weeks his scruff grew and grew, but before his facial hair developed into a full on beard I begged him to shave it.

But taming the "man beast" required a few master grooming tools.

The Razor
A seriously sharp blade is essential for a close shave. My man swears by the Gillette Mac 3. This triple blade razor is positioned to provide a very close shave in a single stroke. With patented DLC comfort edges on each blade and a hydrating moisture strip, a seamless shave is much easier to achieve.

The Shave Cream
An ultra rich shave cream that prevents irritation is a must for men, especially those with sensitive skin. The Art of Shaving Shave Cream is a luxuriously lavish cream that helps to lift the hairs away from the face for a super close shave with little to no razor burn. A luxe combination of glycerin, coconut oil and essentials oils moisturize and soothe the skin. The Lemon Essential Oil is by far my favorite scent (and my man's). This fresh, light scent leaves skin feeling and smelling clean.

The After Shave
If the wrong razor or shaving cream was used to groom our of control facial hair, there may be some visible skin irritation. Calming post-shave redness, inflammation and bumps requires a serious after shave. Shaveworks The Cool Fix is a super soothing gel that helps to fight ingrown hairs, kill bacteria, razor burn, bumps and inflammation. This powerful skin soother uses glycolic acid to exfoliate and help prevent ingrown hairs, salicylic acid works to kill bacteria and helps clean pores, while Boehavia Root Extract helps to reduce redness and skin irritation. No one likes raging red skin!

As Fall approaches, the Summer scruff is no longer sexy! It's time to tame the man beast and help him acheive a great shave!
