Just Can't Live Without...Sula Organic Shea Butter

By TheGlamtastic · August 10, 2010 · 0 Comments ·

As the summer progresses, I feel like my purse is only getting smaller, while the amount of "stuff" I need to keep with me throughout the day seems to grow, grow, grow! It started with two lipsticks; one dramatically dark rusted raspberry and one ultra-light pink. Then my collection quickly grew to include powder, mineral shimmer, dental floss, Advil...What can I say? I 'm a Jewish mother in training!

With an overstuffed handbag, the only items I have room for these days are multi-tasking beauty solutions to help cure dry, itchy, thirsty summer skin all over the body. Who doesn't love a beauty basic that heals and hydrates everywhere from your eyebrows to your elbows?

I recently found love when I tried Sula. This purse-perfect small tin is filled with Organic Shea Butter that works to soften, smooth and sooth dehydrated skin. This super soft moisturizer has become one of those products I am now digging through my purse to find.

What can I say? I just can't live without it!

A Gift for You, La Mer for Me

By TheGlamtastic · December 15, 2009 · 0 Comments ·
We've all been caught in the vicious shopping cycle, one gift for you and one gift for me.

After purchasing a little something for my hubby this weekend, I was running through the department store's first floor, which during the holiday season resembles the floor of the New York Stock Exchange pre-computers. Everyone was scurrying around, waving their lists and tossing their handbags. Before I knew it, I was standing in front of the La Mer counter.

Now, I've worked in beauty for the past five years and can say that I've tried practically every lotion and potion marketed in the U.S. and some abroad, but I had been holding out on actually purchasing La Mer on principle. Why should my moisturizer cost as much as my Tory Burch flats? That just seems crazy!

However, as of last Saturday, I have been converted! I am now in love with La Mer! I purchased my very own La Mer The Moisturizing Gel Cream for a whopping $230 plus tax. I cleansed my skin and applied a super small amount of product, practically the size of a pearl or two, once a day before bed.

I came into work on Monday to tell my co-workers about my conversion to La Mer, but the results were all over my face. After only a few days of usage (I am not kidding), my skin was intensely hydrated, less red, less dry. My skin appeared softer and was silky to the touch.

I guess you can put a price on beautiful skin and it's $230. Worth every penny!

What's your holiday splurge?

Complexion Perfection: Perfekt Skin Skin Perfection Gel

By TheGlamtastic · September 10, 2009 · 0 Comments ·
Complexion perfection? No, you're not dreaming!

The recipe for flawless skin used to contain a laundry list of beauty products, including gobs of foundation, layers of cover up, powders and illuminators...a girl could go broke just trying to achieve an even skin tone.

Makeup artists far and wide have sworn that blending a variety of products is the key to complexion perfection. But now there is a shortcut - one skin perfecting gel that helps to even out the skin tone and blend blemishes, freckles and discolorations. This vitamin-enriched beauty secret reduces redness, minimizes the appearance of sun spots, enlarged pores and helps to reduce shine and oily residue.

Perfekt Skin Perfection Gel is a multi-tasking solution that works to improve your natural skin tone without turning you orange or a ghostly shade of white.

I have to admit I was skeptical of this skin tone tamer at first, especially when it came out of the tube looking like a bronzing cream. If you know me, you know my skin resembles that of Snow White. I didn't want to turn myself orange! But as I smoothed this lightweight gel into the skin, I was left with a more even skin tone and a smoother appearance. I looked less pale and less red. This gel works to make women everywhere look "naturally" beautiful. Loving the natural look this Fall!

This vitamin-enriched, sweat resistant skin treatment is also oil, paraben and fragrance-free!

Rub-a-dub-dub...bar soap in the tub? This summer, the answer is yes!

Getting squeaky clean after a long run through Central Park or rigorous day of shopping formally required an exfoliant, body wash, moisturizer, maybe even a mud mask...But now there's an all natural bar soap that removes dead skin cells, hydrates and nourishes without harsh chemicals, artificial colors, fragrances, animal ingredients or dies (love that).

For an all natural quick cleansing fix, try One With Nature Dead Sea Mineral Soaps. They come in 16 savory and sweet varieties. The savory soaps are my favorite and include lovely and light flavors like Olive Oil, Honey Almond and Dead Sea Salt, to name a few.

This 2-in-1 summer skin exfoliant and moisturizer is composed of nourishing aloe, Shea butter, pure essential oils and Dead Sea minerals to give your skin the extra hydration it needs during the last days of summer.

Relax the Wrinkles With Glamtox SPF 18

Don't Let Stress Show Up on Your Face with Glamtox
Glamtox SPF 18 $125 - http://www.beauty.com
Learning to relax is an art form, especially living in New York!

In this week's office yoga session, the instructor had to remind me more than once to relax my facial muscles. No matter how hard I tried, my face kept tensing and tightening. Not attractive!

While scrunching and bunching the facial muscles is not the only cause of wrinkles, it surely doesn't help!

While I work to perfect being a zen master on the inside, I've just discovered a secret weapon to help me fake it on the outside...Rodical's Glamtox SPF 18. This active daily moisturizer contains muscle relaxing peptides and pomegranate ellagic tannin cell protection (like a Zanex for your facial muscles).

This hydrating moisturizer easily absorbs into the skin, with no shine to speak of. As it penetrates, micro-injected spheres work to relax laugh lines and wrinkles, myrth extract helps to pump up the volume of facial muscles and vitamin c fights uneven skin tone and sun damage.

No peels or needles needed! With just a few pumps of this rich moisturizer, my skin felt more at ease and so did I.

A Super Soothing Treatment Mask to Bring Dry Skin Back to Life
Chantecaille Jasmine and Lily Healing Mask $70 - Neiman Marcus
Dry skin? Tell me about it!

Whether the sun, sand and saltwater have taken a toll on your skin, or a late Saturday night out with one too many cocktails and not enough water has left your skin extra-dry, there is a solution that offers an intense surge of hydration for thirsty skin aka Chantecaille Jasmine and Lily Healing Mask.

This rich, super-soothing treatment nourishes dehydrated skin with Vitamin B, active Camomile, Mimosa and Lily. Rosewater tones the skin and works to replenish moisture, while Seaweed extracts help stimulate cell renewal and bring dry, dull skin back to life. This 91% botanical formula is cooling and healing upon contact. My skin soaked up this hydrating formula within seconds.

For a quick fix, apply the mask to clean skin, leave on for 5-10 minutes and rinse. For a deeper surge of moisture, massage the mask onto the skin and leave it on while you sleep. You'll wake up to super smooth, rejuvenated skin.

Love it!
