Beauty Do or Dare: Neon Nails

By TheGlamtastic · July 15, 2010 · 0 Comments ·

It's already mid-July...WTF! Last thing I remember it was May and I was celebrating my one year anniversary at my fabulous job. How is it July???!!!

Well, while summer is in full swing I'm taking advantage and bringing out my neon brights. I better model my neon nail polishes while it's still beach season.

Before the summer comes to a close, take risks on your toe nail polish! If you love your new beyond bright shades, show them off with Gucci peep toe pumps or J. Crew flip flops. If you decide you hate the color after 48 hours, nail polish remover or closed-toed shoes are always an option!

What's your favorite summer nail polish shade? Tell us about it!

By TheGlamtastic · July 13, 2010 · 0 Comments ·

One of my girlfriends, who will remain nameless, desperately needs color in her life! While I can't convince her to infuse her wardrobe with light or bright shades, she's open to experimenting when it comes to her makeup.

For ladies who swear by an exclusively black wardrobe, MAC Cosmetics is here to brighten their look with MAC's new Haute & Naughty Lash Mascara ($18.00). This beyond-bright two-in-one mascara lets ladies customize their lashes. Check out the examples to your left.

This rich formula doesn't flake, break or dry out lashes. It utilizes a hydrating formula for naturally defined or wow-o-wow lashes!

Get a sneak peak online only at www.maccosmetics.com. As of September 2010, Haute & Naughty Mascara will be available at all locations in the permanent collection.

Which of these looks get you haute and bothered???

Just Can't Live Without: Tarte Cosmetics Blushing Bride Cheek Stain

Be a Blushing Bride Any Day of the Week (No Groom Required)!

The talk in my office is weddings, weddings, weddings! One of my co-workers just got engaged (YEAH!), another is awaiting the arrival of the ring, you get the idea...

I LOVED my wedding. The planning, well not so much! The reward for months of RSVP lists and table arrangements was getting to play dress up for a day with NY Fashion Week-worthy hair and makeup artists.

So, I can't afford to throw the wedding of my dreams again, but be a blushing bride? I can pull off that look any day of the week with Tarte Cosmetics Cheek Stain Cheek Color in Blushing Bride ($30). Lately, I just can't live without it! No, I'm not kidding.

This water-based, gel formula is mistake-proof cheek color, which offers a "just blushed" or "rosey romantic" color to the apples of the cheeks. It's super simple to use, even in a low-lit gym locker room, where I get dressed most mornings!

It's alcohol-free, so it won't dry your skin out and it's oil-free so it won't cause crazy break-outs across your face. Perfect for dry summer/winter NYC weather! It's also free of parabens, phalates, sulfates...and more. LOVE!

Ever since I discovered it, I just can't live without Tarte's Cheek Stain!

Have you tried it? Tell us what you think!!!

Dump the Jerk! Sephora by OPI Too Good for Him Nail Color

These are the pumps I'm dying to get my hands on after have my perfect pedicure!
I am addicted to pedicures! I absolutely love them, whether they involve coconut milk, long calf massages or paraben wax treatments. I am a pedicure girl.

My polish of choice for winter weather has been OPI's oh-so-famous Lincoln Park After Dark, but lately I've been thinking perhaps it's time to experiment with a pop of color on my toes.

My girlfriends are a tad more adventurous with polish, and a girlfriend told me she had found a new, flirty and sparkly purple shade that provided a burst of color in one of OPI's fabulous formulas, so I had to give it a try! Sephora by OPI has just launched a shade of nail lacquer to celebrate women everywhere and help them embrace 2010! The feminist in me loves the concept of this nail lacquer as much as the color!

Too Good For Him nail color is a vibrant grape color with silver flecks of sparkle. It has the words "playful" written all over it!

This long-lasting, chip resistant nail color goes on smooth with no clumps or bumps. Top coat helps to seal in your nail color and keep it lasting that much longer.

Dare to give color a try? It's time to experiment with the Sephora by OPI Too Good for Him nail color!
