Steal These from Your Boyfriend or Husband STAT

By TheGlamtastic · February 25, 2010 · 0 Comments ·
M3Power Prices Vary - Drugstores Nationwide
I've always used my husband's razor in the shower, but last week in a fit of rage after he refused to clean the bathroom, I finally confessed that I always use his razor and frankly it seemed a bit dull. Perhaps he could change the blade?!

A razor, some old school, super thick shaving cream, deodorant once in a while...these are all products I "borrow" from my hubby. After all, marriage is 50-50 right?

Here are some other grooming goodies that I just can't go without, from his side of the bathroom vanity! The best part is if I don't confess to other "borrowing" of items, he may just never know...

Kill Germs Without Crazy Chemicals: CleanWell Hand Sanitizer

By TheGlamtastic · January 26, 2010 · 0 Comments ·
New York is one germy city. I am always disgusted after I see someone blow their nose on the subway, catch it in their hand and then touch the subway seat. YUCK!

Lately, I've become a crazy germ-killer. That's right, my apartment is stocked with Purel, we have a ton of of bottles of Clorox, Fantastic, Mr. Clean and so much more smushed into a small cabinet above the broom and paper towels. As much as I love keeping my apartment and my life as germ-free as I can, I hate that the chemical are a killer, sometimes literally!

My new Whole Foods obsession? CleanWell All Natural Hand Sanitizer. This alcohol-free, gentle germ killer uses a powerful formula made up of patented plant oils proven to kill 99.9% of germs.
It left my hands super soft, as if it added additional moisture, and left a clean, lime scent.

CleanWell is available at Whole Foods, Bath & Body Works, drugstore.com and many more. Check out their web site for additional retailers - http://www.cleanwelltoday.com/.

If you don't want to catch someone else's germs, the flu or virus-causing bacteria, keep an all natural hand sanitizer in your purse or try hand sanitizing wipes.

Taming the Man Beast

Gillette Mach 3 $7.99 - http://www.razorsdirect.com/
The Art of Shaving Shave Cream (Lemon Essential Oil) $22 - http://www.theartofshaving.com
Last week, my hubby went on "shaving strike." I have to admit that he looks sexy with light scruff, but over the course of two weeks his scruff grew and grew, but before his facial hair developed into a full on beard I begged him to shave it.

But taming the "man beast" required a few master grooming tools.

The Razor
A seriously sharp blade is essential for a close shave. My man swears by the Gillette Mac 3. This triple blade razor is positioned to provide a very close shave in a single stroke. With patented DLC comfort edges on each blade and a hydrating moisture strip, a seamless shave is much easier to achieve.

The Shave Cream
An ultra rich shave cream that prevents irritation is a must for men, especially those with sensitive skin. The Art of Shaving Shave Cream is a luxuriously lavish cream that helps to lift the hairs away from the face for a super close shave with little to no razor burn. A luxe combination of glycerin, coconut oil and essentials oils moisturize and soothe the skin. The Lemon Essential Oil is by far my favorite scent (and my man's). This fresh, light scent leaves skin feeling and smelling clean.

The After Shave
If the wrong razor or shaving cream was used to groom our of control facial hair, there may be some visible skin irritation. Calming post-shave redness, inflammation and bumps requires a serious after shave. Shaveworks The Cool Fix is a super soothing gel that helps to fight ingrown hairs, kill bacteria, razor burn, bumps and inflammation. This powerful skin soother uses glycolic acid to exfoliate and help prevent ingrown hairs, salicylic acid works to kill bacteria and helps clean pores, while Boehavia Root Extract helps to reduce redness and skin irritation. No one likes raging red skin!

As Fall approaches, the Summer scruff is no longer sexy! It's time to tame the man beast and help him acheive a great shave!

Man Beauty: Jack Black Beard Lube

Grooming 101: A Good Shave
My husband loves to shop for suits, electronics and golf clubs, but when it comes to grooming products, forget it! He'd rather watch the Real Housewives of New Jersey with me than take a trip to Bendels.

This summer, I've decided to take matters into my own hands and outfit him with the latest and greatest in grooming.

This morning he shaved with the new Jack Black Beard Lube Conditioning Shave. The lightweight, lubricating lotion softens men's facial hair for a closer shave. Macadamia nut and jojoba oil soothe and hydrate to minimize razor burn and irritation, while eucalyptus and peppermint invigorate the area, providing a slight tingle to wake up tired skin (so says my husband). It's also formulated without synthetic fragrances or dyes, it's dermatologist-tested and alcohol-free - love that.

I walked in the door last night and immediately noticed a difference in my hubby's skin. He didn't have the usual redness and razor burn that plagues his cheeks and neck after a typical Monday morning shave.

What's your man's favorite grooming product? Tell me about it!
